One of the West Coast big cities, San Francisco happily mixes European culture and the American Dream. The Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street and Alcatraz are the city’s best known attractions.

A wide range of activities await you in San Francisco. After visiting the many piers of the Old Wharf, go and check a scenic view of the city on Russian Hill. To burn last night’s calories, why not bike across the Golden Gate Bridge. The view you will get of Alcatraz and the Pacific Ocean will be second to none. If you’re up to it, you can go on the other side of the bridge to Sausalito. A charming coastal village with an elegant architecture, Sausalito is the best place to take a walk, hike or embrace the San Francisco Bay scenery.

From San Francisco, you can also visit California’s central region. Less than 90 minutes from the city, you will taste some of the World’s best wines in Sonoma and Napa Valley. Many vineyards are open to the public, allowing you to taste many different produces. Still less than 90 minutes from San Francisco, go visit Half-Moon Bay and Santa Cruz and their wonderful beaches. Santa Cruz is well renowned for its warm climate and the nice attraction park on the beach. Santa Cruz is also the starting point of the scenic road to Santa Barbara. On Route 1, steep cliffs mingle with the shiny blue sea. Bad weather won’t be a factor during your excursion: there is hardly any rainfall during the summertime, south of San Francisco. On your way back, make a stop on the gorgeous Stanford University Campus. Its unique architecture is worth the detour. You really have to see San Francisco and its vicinity!
