Sandos Playacar Section Riviera

We are a young couple and it was our first trip down south. We started one week. It was a memorable trip. This hotel is simply beautiful. I've never seen anything like this at the facilities .. everything is super clean and courteous person. As for the beach: INCREDIBLE .. no rocks and you can go the distance in all tranquility. ROOMS = PERFECT. In short, we loved our trip and we recommend this place to anyone.

Only minor drawbacks: we would have liked more French ... person on the site does not speak French while hyper is anglicized. In addition, the menus to buffets became repetitive after only 4 days. MEXICAN RESTAURANTS NOT ON THE SITE, but other than that ... everything is perfect!

First time at this hotel and I'm pleasantly surprised. This is a big WOW on the line. The food (buffet and a la carte restaurants) simply delicious. The beach: magic. The room: gorgeous. Staff: incredible. In fact, I am returning without a doubt. Thank you very much for this unforgettable week.

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Second stay at this hotel and it was even better than 2007.La beach is really bigger than the last time and still as a la carte restaurant propre.Les are delicious and do not miss the steak house and Asian. The buffets are very good and variés.Nous were in the Riviera section, very high propre.Le staff is super friendly and poli.Je highly recommend this hotel, you will not be disappointed ps.

We had reservations at the beach section and finally we found ourselves in the Riviera section GRE.UN against our little further from the beach (about 7 min.à foot) but remember, you are on vacation and the small carrier passes regulary.

Been there for the third time, we once again enjoyed. Great beach, clean and free of algae. The restaurants are also very clean and the food is excellent. The a la carte restaurants doubly excellent. We were first in the section for the river bed (new bed for 3 years). Staff very polite and sympatic.

The room in the Riviera side very modern, very clean cons by a long way from the sea whereas it must take a shuttle and the morning to get his book palapas, there is no shuttle. So, too far to return to the room for lunch if you want to cool off a bit and there is a shuttle from 7 seats (it's long).

BEACH - Absolutely superb! Be aware that the beach in Playa Del Carmen (including the Sandos Playacar Beach) has been completely renovated in February due to erosion caused by waves. An investment of more than 90 million helped rebuild the beach from sand from Cozumel. Whales that had been installed in the water and that protected the beach and many of which complained in previous assessments are now a thing of the past. The sea was calm and some days we also had the right to good waves strong enough. This hotel is the last on the beach. It is therefore possible to make beautiful walks to the right of the hotel on a beautiful deserted beach. HOME - Smiling, fast and very effective! SERVICE - The service throughout was excellent. The employees are very friendly and extremely efficient. We were not expecting us to never be served in bars and restaurants. Several supervisors of the hotel approached us during our stay to see our comments on the hotel and service in general and ask if they could do anything to make our stay more enjoyable. BARS - Several bars available on the website as well as directly on the beach. Very fast service and great cocktails. ROOMS - We had a room in the Riviera section is the furthest from the beach but the most recent. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with beautiful modern bathrooms with marble showers and glass Jacuzzi. The room near the beach are also very nice but much smaller. The bathrooms in this section have been renovated recently. Hacienda section (like small villas) also seems very interesting with its small private pools. BUFFET - The variety and quality of food in the buffet was very good. The decor is also nice. The Italian buffet (It Piemonte) is interesting and the Grand Buffet offers a menu with a different theme each day. The Mexican buffet is lovely location overlooking the beach on one side. We found the atmosphere in the buffet section Riviera (near our room) a bit depressing as it is closed and air conditioning. The food is still excellent. RESTAURANT A LA CARTE - The steak house (El Gaucho) was very good. If you go, try the Chimichurri sauce for steaks ... it is excellent! The restaurant is against a little dark, it was hard to see what was on our plates. We also went to the Mediterranean restaurant near the beach. This is the Mexican buffet lunch that turns into a la carte restaurant at night. We ate fresh tuna steaks with caper sauce delicious! ROOM SERVICE - Have used this service once. Again, quick and efficient. ALLERGIES - Someone from our group has a peanut allergy and can not eat peanuts or nuts. We inquired with staff and corn oil (not peanut) is used for cooking. Very few dessert contained nuts and restaurants and bars have almost all soft ice cream machines therefore safe for allergy. We have not seen peanut butter in the buffet for breakfast. Warning ... the Chimichurri Sauce a la carte restaurant of El Gaucho contains pine nuts. Also, a Spanish hospital (Hospiten of Playa del Carmen) is located near the hotel. We contacted the hospital staff before leaving to ensure they would be able to treat patients in anaphylactic shock. ACTIVITIES - We were traveling with children about 12 years. Many activities available to them: billiards, table tennis, bicycles, tennis, painting on porcelain ceramics ($ $) and many games and activities organized by animators. The hotel also has a superb gym well equipped to make us lose the extra calories! The output of snorkeling (1h30) from the hotel is interesting and worthwhile.

Although we really enjoyed our week at the Sandos, here are some observations (rather than negative comments) that may be of interest to some people. ESPRESSO - The bars have espresso machines are not usually open until 9:00 in the morning. ANIMATION - The animation was (in our opinion) far too noisy on the beach some days.

Attentive and welcoming staff. Hotel very clean and well maintained. Ideal location, 20 minutes by bicycle from Playa del Carmen in a quiet road.

The most positive aspect of this hotel is without doubt the customer service. ALL customers are greeted and served with the same attention and custom. You have to be looking for social contacts during his stay at this hotel. Compared to other hotels, it is smaller and people, especially employees will often tell you about. Nothing assaulting rest assured! The atmosphere is very family. The second strength is probably the beach and is a near perfect and clean water is very clear. (Not for those algae that ca little interest!) Finally the food is also excellent, as the "a la carte" as buffets. (I recommend the Mexican buffet!). This place is ideal for families, friends and young couples dynamics. Grandiose setting, worthy of hotels in the Riviera Maya, while maintaining a certain simplicity. Experience is undoubtedly generally VERY POSITIVE.

First, the main pool is VERY small considering the number of visitors in the hotel and therefore often a hair will get stuck between your toes. You will surely agree that the sensation is rather unpleasant. But do not be discouraged by that, there other pools on the site, including a much larger, less crowded and with a bar. But above all, the beach! Compared to swim too, if you get up too late, you may be very difficult to sit well, especially if you're a big group. To ensure a good seat, in-season, high season in max 9, max 8h. Second negative aspect, the cleanliness of the toilets by the pool. Given its substantial traffic, there remains a certain smell ... Simply paradise, the hotel is spotlessly clean. The food is the best I've ever eaten in the south. If you like this hotel and not have stayed at home because you'll never contentable. Site with vegetation superbe.Pour those who do not like to walk well and should be placed in the sections closer to the beach. We we were far away but that's what we wanted, any way because there is a big golf carrying all day long to the rooms. The water is warm in the turquoise sea and a WOW! We took the trip to Xel-ha, for those who love scuba gear, you can not miss it because the hotel can not really be seen in the waves. Especially do not miss the shows on Saturday night, Fire and Water and Tribute to Michael Jackson. Those who can t go they take pictures of the spectacle of Michael Jackson and put them on this site because my camera was acting up and no photos of the show. Thank you in advance!

The big pockets of sand in the sea are unpleasant for the view but hey, every hotel on this beach are in the same position. There was a little too vague for my taste but hey, it blew and we appreciated having the wind temperature, then with the waves.
