To my surprise the Grand Sunset Princess and Grand Riviera Princess hotel are one, very large site about 1500 rooms, much too large for the size of the beach, if you like being in like a sardine can you served. The food is OK, 4 buffets but the same thing, the wine is terrible too sweet and very expensive to purchase if you wish to purchase a la carte. The a la carte restaurants are common. I went to Valentin Imperial during the holiday season and I can assure you that this is a true 5 star at all points. The Princess in our opinion it is a 5 for the building and the site but maximum 4 for chow. By the way there was no straw in the hotel supposedly for the environment but there are plastic and stirofoam mass. Approximately 10 minutes by taxi from Playa Del Carmen. The beach is very nice for people who enjoy walking. It was a beautiful, cool evening. It's still a nice hotel but I would not go back.
