superb hotel! What else to say!

Positive :

very good buffet, very good restaurant a la carte, very nice hotel, clean, well maintained, beautiful beach (I do not understand those who say that the beach is not nice, they really are whiners) good service.

Negative :

the only thing I have to say is that bookings at the card are complicated, always stand in line three hours to book if there is more to restaurant available. I would also say that the lobster's rare for a flat 5 stars EST. But aside from that, everything is perfect

Not enough palapas for a large site, even ants in the third floor, not comfortable chair for a 5 star.

very nice hotel, big, large selection of pool. I had a room overlooking the sea platinum very well decorated. many choices of restaurants (7). lot of activity. very clean. the evening for a drink you have a choice of bar or terrace. shuttle service to get around. drink the mud-slide'''' tried absolutely!

Negative :

on the beach, lots of rock, must market at least 50 'in water to have more. the very mediocre lunch buffet ... for lovers of fine cuisine you will be disappointed, the food is very ordinary for a 5 star.

We absolutely loved the Grand Sunset Princess. The site is HUGE and beautifully maintained (from 5 am to 22h in the evening, I always managed to see someone who was cleaning something to keep the hotel clean). The buffet is very complete, but it is the a la carte restaurants that are featured. Wow, really good food! (Suggestion: ask for their recommendation to servers in restaurants a la carte, they know their great restaurant! And if an item has the word "princess" in its description, order it!). The beach is fine, though somewhat rocky (this is the case throughout the Riviera Maya - the Princess is better than others by cons). The pools are also very good (there is something for everyone). The only hitch is that we do not feel that our belongings were safe - we have not been stolen, but other people on the site have been stolen money (in the safe!) . Bring some cash and opt for travelers checks for you secure. The service in restaurants is superb a la carte, but leaves something to be desired in the buffet (make sure the manager of the buffet, wearing a white coat, is present and the service is good). If you leave tips, we will remember you (especially in bars - they answered before those waiting because I always left a tip). The hotel staff earn about $ 8 per day, a wage that is not up to the cost of living or service offered. When you receive good service, leave a tip (even at the pool, even at lunch, even in the room!). I have unfortunately seen too many wild never left anything (be sure they are probably also the first to leave negative comments on the web). About two weeks, I left about $ 150 in tips (for couples), or roughly $ 5 per person, per day. We visited Playa del Carmen (5th Ave). We hated. On all sides, one gets harassed to buy products and services. We made some purchases in stores a little bigger and Wal-Mart. If you want to buy tequila (etc.), Wal-Mart and Mega are the places to visit. They sell for half price compared to the hotel, and easily 25% cheaper than on 5th Avenue. It was thought to spend the evening in Playa del Carmen, we went back to the hotel after less than two hours - completely disgusted. We made 3 trips, Mayan Encounter Coba, Tulum and Xcaret Extreme. All three are recommended, really really cool. You should see the cenotes (water caves) at least once in their lifetime!

Positive :

The a la carte restaurants - simply delicious. Service beyond the mean in restaurants a la carte. The wide selection of restaurants and swimming pools. The cleanliness of the site.

Negative :

You do not feel that our personal possessions are safe. The poor service in the buffets.

I spent the week of June 7 to 14 at this hotel and if he did not do so hot I might be more enjoyed my stay. First the most: The staff is impeccable, always smiling and friendly especially Yvan which we changed to a luxury room with whirlpool at no cost because my girlfriend could not wash in the shower (wheelchair) and in the suites Junior there's no bathroom so be advise .. Cleanliness is the watchword of the low I could eat off the floor so it's clean. The site is really very beautiful and very very well maintained, well-cut grass everywhere and green (no yellow despite the oppressive heat) pools are large and those who opt for a room with access to the pool and although it is an excellent choice because although you are far from the lobby, there's two buffets prepared these rooms so no need to walk too far. For those who choose the rooms' platinum '(and deluxe pool access) and y' though it 'bus shelters' around with a limo cart that picks up the passage so you ca also is a plus especially if you have trouble walking because the site is huge and to get to the beach from the lobby takes ca 10 min easy walk. The bars all have great service and offer quality drinks with real fruit and not the cheap slush with alcohol and even if you do 'tipper' not every time, even when they come back to you with the smile, short very good staff the best I've seen in four trips to the south. It there's a gym for those interested but only for cardio and will have one internet access wi-fi but get ready to anoint if you use it because the signal is really weak and everywhere I have tested it with my blackberry. If you travel with Sunwing will have one computer you can use for free in the local Sunwing but I knew the last day unfortunately. Side trip well and he seems to have much (Mayan pyramid, dolphins, catamarans etc ...) but I made none. You can go to Playa Del Carmen by taxi us there was 11 and it costs us $ 70 round trip if it is $ 13 per person I think ... Good for the negative side, apart those lunch buffet near the pool was more than usual .. not only rice and pasta the same day last y 'had none. The dishes are the same all week and it's often warm (like all the buffets I know ...) there is still something to eat for a 5 star but I was very disappointed. I eat better at the Barcelo Santa Maria in Cuba and is a 4 stars (in addition to cuba ..) a la carte restaurants: Italian, lazagne not good, not good risotto but the calf was supposed that it seems you excellent. The grill was the only a la carte restaurants that I liked, the steak was good although very fatty in places. And Swiss fondue restaurant and well again nothing special apart the dessert (fruit and chocolate fondue) oh yeah and the lobster is not included in the price for the seafood restaurant, is $ 20 Moreover, completely ridiculous for a 5 star ... as you see I did not like the food at this hotel with some exceptions such as cheezburgers that taste like those here. Get ready to walk into this hotel for what nimporte (go to the lobby, a la carte restaurant, pool, beach etc. ..) is a very large site so if you're used no problem but if you are used to smaller sites you might want to think about it especially if as I said earlier you have problems of mobility if it does take a deluxe room and passing through no fault there is no room 'appropriate' for wheelchair and junior suites have showers only (still something disappointing especially for a 5 star). Our maid did nothing special on the bed throughout the week she was content to make the bed and change towels while all the others with whom we traveled had towels on animals their beds and chocolates with mint, oh yeah and the last day she has not even made the room ... I should have kept my $ 5. If you ever arrive in the evening and you are not satisfied with your room do not push as 'committed' to evening / night can not do anything even if they let you think so .. wait and see after Yvan is truly right and it is crazy not to you, he even called us to our room to see if everything was ok! Beach side, well there is a lot of chairs and little space but there's also plenty of palapas to find the shadow is not that complicated but you have to get up early to reserve chairs for going fast! The sea is obviously not as in Cuba, the water is murky and there's a foul odor that sometimes goes down to us, some small rocks when entering the water but be careful it's nothing too serious. The seadoo go right next to the buoys so 'snorkeling' is not ideal, I managed to make but I have not gone as far as I would have liked because of seadoo ... Basically it's a very nice hotel, clean but with food for the number of ordinary stars. If you pay less than $ 900 but it's worth up to ca you should choose another place

Positive :

Beauty of the site and the hotel, spotlessly clean, friendly and smiling, very good drinks, beach service (bar)

Negative :

Buffet VERY common for a 5 star, same thing for a la carte restaurants, maid blazee (in our case at least) photos cost a ridiculously dear

The excellent buffet and a la carte restaurant great. The beach is very nice you can go walking. I can tell you that I would definitely return. I do not understand the world that are difficult they probably only been to Cuba. This is not comparable hotel expenses. I recommend it.

Positive :

Very nice hotel. Beautiful pools. Several activities at the pools and evening entertainment. 15 minutes by taxi from Playa del Carmen (Note: vendors yelling at you so that you visit their booth, and throughout the 5th Avenue!!). Beautiful beach in spite of the rocks, to the right, a little less rock.

Negative :

Chairs on the beach located so very tight and lacks intimacy. People arrive early to reserve their chair so to get a good seat, you must arrive after dinner. The maids come in your room three times without notice to you and if you are in your room, they knock on your door so do not let hang your belongings. We were not notified that there was a shuttle to the beach and no information on beach towels, therefore, must fend for the info. Lots of noise from the central pool thus, more tranquility pool view. Do not take a junior suite as little service (making the bed and that's it and sometimes forgets to put new towels ....) and pay attention to your sheets because there are tasks.

Quality hotel, very nice site and well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good restaurants in the map.

Negative :

Sunwing Agent: It does not inform ns of services: restaurant reservations, taxi fare to Playa del Carmen, shuttle service from the hotel to the beach, and all the little things we would like to know. In short, he wants to sell excursions ns. Needless to attend the meeting. Beach: brown water, foul odor and Riviera side. Deckchair uncomfortable. Buffet: good but little changed.
