Temperature very beautiful and very hot (almost too much, June is the hottest month of the year in Samana). We arrived at night but check-in went very smoothly before taking the boat. Then, arrived on the island, waiting for us with cold towels and glasses of non-alcoholic punch. Excellent. The hotel gardens are beautiful, I have nothing to say against it, they are really beautiful. The beaches are fine, I preferred against by the public beach. The pools are correct but it seems to me that in high season, the number and size should be sufficient. The buffet was decent, smallish but still always good fish and seafood often too. I personally do not like buffets but I can tell you that the quality of the food that was served there, no problem. The view from the room is breathtaking 19,103.

We booked a deluxe junior suite, that is to say with Jacuzzi on the balcony. These rooms are located in buildings 8-9-10 and 16-17-18-19. We first chamber 9102. Many problems with this room: cockroaches, shower did not work, patio door opened easily, coffee machine did not work, containing a tiny terrace jacuzzi, two chairs, two chairs and a table where it was impossible to move . The next day we got the room 19103 which, according to the concierge, was smaller, which does not seem to be the case. Much more divided (these rooms have a lounge and bedroom, two televisions) and the terrace was at least three times greater with the bay a few feet, we also had a second balcony at the front. In my opinion, this is the best room in this category (there are only 21 deluxe junior suite, 3 per building). We have had problems there too by cons: Shower (flooding every time) that have been repaired after two days, a toilet seat that has been repaired torn after a day and a few cockroaches. There was also a broken window at the entrance to the room they decided to placard and a hole in the patio door before they were covered with "scotch tape". The a la carte restaurants are good but I was sick for four days after eating at the Italian. It's very dark in this restaurant and after having already started eating my salmon, I realized, when approaching the candle, it was undercooked. Actually, I was very ill afterwards. It was no mere "tourist", although many seem to have suffered for 24 hours. It was good bacteria since the only thing to help was the Cipro. The trips took place only towards the end of the week: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, so I was disappointed. On Wednesday, I made the National Park Los Haitises, it was good but not great. On Thursday, I had to El Limon, but I was sick. On Friday, the jeep safari (Samana runners), I was still sick but it was canceled anyway because too many people were sick. Obviously, I was unlucky in many ways (I even "propped up" in the wet paint because there was no warning about it) so take my criticism with a grain of salt because I assume that my experience is not common. My mother was there a month before me and this was his best trip for life.

Great place to relax or, thanks to let the kids at home this resort is not for children. in our case the food is the only weak point of this resort. I am aware that we are in ouff republic but there is room for much improvement, there is neither conditioned nor at the buffet restaurant so beware that you choose your food as it is not too long that everything oozes heat therefore very rapid development of bacteria. You will not gain weight during your week guaranteed. do not deprive yourself to go everything is wonderful but one week is sufficient, given that the food is rather ordinary as a buffet at the restaurant.

The week of our stay, climate with much rain. Very steep terrain. Lots of walking, need to be shaped. Shuttle service not the most effective.

Very nice site on a beautiful island. Several small villas that contains your EVERY 8 rooms for some and another for 4 bedrooms. The rooms are very spacious with bed badlequin, of very large balcony overlooking the sea and not forgetting the bathroom with Jacuzzi bath very much. We have been very well served for meals and evening by Valentin Maximo ... They are always wonderful people here to help. Not forget that even if it is a 5 star, if you want good service, it is important to give a few dollars from time to another server that you love. It makes them happy and you will get outstanding service and at every day. The beach is in two parts is part of or the water comes off with nice waves and the other party or the calmer you can do snorkeling (mask, snorkel and fin can be lent by the hotel). Also if you want, you can go on the side of the public beach where people pay a trip to get there. The drinks are very good especially the kaipirina. Always chairs at the beach, no need to jog in the morning to have the beach towels are provided and are picked up every night then has no danger of being robbed of your towel except by persons of the hotel which will picks. Site very heavenly gardens and lush vegetation composed of beautiful. You have to walk far to get from one to another endoit but there is a kind of bus stop and small truck takes you to get where you want on the site. The buffet is very good and very varied and mostly warm with a theme every night. This is our 15 trips and in general we loved our vacation on any points that are important or the beach, the warmth, the rooms, buffet and services. As for the rest, you're on vacation, so enjoy the rest. We made no excursions and activities while ignoring the coast to these points.

WITH RESPECT TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE, PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SAY THAT IT HAS NOT ENOUGH TO GO THIS IS JUST AN EXPLANATION, we found the shows were very very ordinary evening even no divertisant except dinner or they have karaoke. Since there's nothing else to do at night as a drink, it would be interesting to put a bit more money on this side. This site is for people who want tranquility and total rest since about 23:00, everyone go to bed. There are a kind of disco on the public beach but nobody goes there then for the rest site. The a la carte restaurants we did not rain but it is our opignion because for most people, it was delicious. In pasant, try to learn some words in Spanish because the servers do not speak much English let alone French.

Hotel and remarkable paradise. The staff is an outstanding courtesy and the hotel management (the CEO, Ricardo Esteban is very kind and very helpful) does everything to satisfy the needs of its customers. Variety of food at the buffet and excellent quality in a la carte restaurants. Professional service in restaurants. The hotel and the whole site is of great cleanliness. The beaches are small but very well maintained throughout the day and several chairs available. Even finding the two pools. Very romantic and ideal for relaxation and rest. Those looking for a festive atmosphere would do well to look for another place. The hotel rooms are very spacious and luxurious. Lush and varied. Interesting for snorkeling enthusiasts.

Beware of villas called junior suites - category above. In some cases (including 22 villa), these are older buildings with the rest of the site. We wonder why they deserve the word "top". Villa 22 is more like a "little motel in the South Shore" ... Nothing to do with the pictures and other descriptions available online. It is best to stay in the main building of the hotel or in the newer villas. Service a little slow at the beach bar. We suggested bar-man and servers on the beach. Some employees (shops) would do well to speak English (or even better, French!) To facilitate trade. However, several efforts are appreciated. Nightly entertainment "very ordinary" and not comparable with the quality of the hotel. Would do well to invest a few dollars ...

Very nice hotel. Welcoming and friendly staff. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the look of the beach (not great), the quality of the drinks offered at the beach bar, buffet restaurant by the pool also. The a la carte restaurants were very ordinary buffet is better. No entertainment on site. Background music until 11:00 after a good night. For making several large hotels and different places to be sure that Samana we will not be back.
