Melia Las Americas

Beautiful white sand beach, no rocks or seaweed ... The rooms are clean. One and only one restaurant a la carte was very good.

This property has nothing to do with a 5 star (Cuban). This is my third trip to Cuba. The first two trips to four stars were much better. The buffet is always the same. I've never been able to eat shrimp. The fish is very limited without forgetting the salad fruit and even tomatoes. This property does not absolutely deserves 5 stars, but a 3 * +. So we had a bad price / quality ratio. So pay a 5 * for a 3 * it is very expensive.

Nice hotel, golf included support for several people. Courteous but always looking for tips. Nice room with sea view, very clean. Maids very polite.

Water too cold in the pool. One pool in operation. Hot tub not working. Beautiful beach but too short to take steps. Buffet always the same, it was much better in a 4-star last year. Bar staff very courteous and waiting for a tip. Paid too much for what we got. It's not a 5 star. Also arriving on the first night, we did not have the room for which we paid. But it was easy to change the next morning.

Excellent Japanese restaurant quality vegetables in restaurants with rooms overlooking the golf course as nice as those seen with known sea, and cheaper Courteous

5 star hotel for a day can not understand why there is no seafood a la carte. Always give tips on Cuban to have good services and more. The buffet food is execrable. And the hotel if you do not play golf will not c pensioners

Super beautiful beaches to be visited several. The choice of restaurants (Italiano and Romantico) to the card are very good and the staff is great .. always smiling and eager. The rooms are very large junior and the king's great ... we sleep very well. I recommente this hotel without hesitation.

Nice, clean and well located. Beautiful beach although a bit short for the steps, good room service. Restaurants in the map are all very good. Good evening entertainment but ends a bit early. The snack bar by the pool is well meet Manuel, he's very nice. The pools are beautiful and you can relax on floating mattress. You can also lunch at Italian restaurant will make well above the buffet.

Very very ordinary buffet, drinks at the bar on the beach not so good because they are made with orange squash instead of fresh juice. Staff not very rosy. Often lack of draft beer.

Large suite pretty clean with a beautiful view over the golf course and the sea Beautiful beach, good availability of comfortable chairs and cushions available for chairs on the beach. Near the center of Varadero 8 pesos by taxi but can 7 pesos or 5 pesos bus but against slower (20 minutes waiting for the bus). The housekeeping staff and room service and the beach staff very courteous. Near the Plaza America shopping center or grocery store and there are a few shops and a bank ... for those interested .. The shows are quite interesting and good enough ... For golfers, the ground is very good and offers a beautiful view ... We made two trips, Jeep and Havana (Theresa asked as a guide with Tour Mont-Royal) that we liked, it was very fun, entertaining and very interesting.

The food ... ouffff! did not like ... the buffet without any variety, the same thing, morning, noon and night .. it is getting irritating and boring ... the restaurants to choose from ... not good either except perhaps the Sakura (Japanese) any worse, and Arcada is good .. the snack bar for lunch is ok ... but otherwise .... We went for a good meal in Varadero, there is La Fondue, and retaurants Park on 56th Street, it was pretty good and diverse. There are also good restaurants on the avenue 1'ière. The furniture of the hall would need to be refreshed, if not changed, they are not very clean and quite shabby, it also lacks chairs and tables. We have not noticed a lot of smiles from the staff of the Melia Las Americas and are really disappointed about that. This was our third trip to Varadero in four years and less pleasant ... This hotel is not 5 * as advertised by some, but a small pluyôt 4 *. After experiencing such as hotels Paradisus Princesa del Mar is a great true 5 * and more (especially if you travel concierge) and the Sol Palmeras also a 5 * (I'd say a 4 1/2 * - food improve). We came back very disappointed with our 2008 visit to Cuba ... A week at Melia Las Americas, especially for golfers can be interesting if we do not talk about food, but otherwise mainly for two weeks and we believe it is a great need for improvement especially in terms of food and of the service. Superb Hotel, great location very clean, very courteous staff, the a la carte restaurants are all very good. very good room service. The beach is gorgeous anything not very long to take steps ... we must pass over the rocks in front of the hotel Melia Varadero to go further towards the tip of the peninsula. many chairs at the beach and the pool's and they are covered cushion. Not much except that the dishes at the buffet were the same ones in every day ... We do about 7 different Varadero hotels from 3 * to 5 * and we have had a better selection of buffets in a 3 * hotel and this is classified 5 *. The quality of the buffets were very good but the choice Desmets were little developed.
