Well overall, for a 3 star. The site is left somewhat neglected, if they are remodeling a little place would really be great. Mold on wall of room, bathroom in poor states. When I went there only one pool was open, one open buffet restaurant and 3 à la carte, but we ate better at buffut, apart from the Italian restaurant.

Very nice site, many buildings are original 1930 architecture, very pretty. Servers (keynote) at the buffet very nice. Guys for water activities also very nice. The beach is super nice and big. Very good price / quality ratio. It should be remembered that this is a 3 star, but everything was fine. The sea is extraordinary Kawama. On the sand we can walk away until you have a good depth of water. The beach is wide with white sand that contains some fragments of shells and other ... The staff is friendly and welcoming. For food that is Cuba so no food.

As this is a hotel complex there are several buildings and I came across a room that was not in a good condition and well located away from the pool, the buffet hall ect. but if I go back I will do as people who were of the trip and ask for another room (and complained a little it offers a superior room)

The hotel is really well located for the airport, only 20 to 25 minute drive. To be honest, I was far from disappointed. There are always positives and negatives when traveling to Cuba in particular. For those who take the time to read this know that I have some recommendations. First DO NOT take American money in Cuba, you will be dining with the steep exchange rate. Bring Canadian money as I did. I, for $ 100 Canadian I got $ 100.31 Cuban pesos (this is in buck buck). I will say like most people, do not exchange your money in the lobby of the hotel, they take commissions, go to the bank located on the site of the hotel (passport required) to share. The bank is closed on weekends so plan ahead. As for excursions, they are extremely expensive, there is nothing available below $ 100 per person then it would be better to have the budget. For my part, I did a carriage ride through the city which took about 1:30 for really cheap, $ 10 per person but you should understand Spanish a little bit to ease communication but it really worth the trouble. Suggestion, if you do a carriage ride, do it after dinner because in the day, it gets a little too hot ... Level amenities, everything is available near the site or even the hotel. There is a mini super market where you will find everything and cheap. NOTICE TO SMOKERS! Do not buy cigarettes at the duty free shop in Quebec, this is money garroché in the fire. A cartoon of cigarettes cost $ 20 at mini supermarket and $ 12.50 at the Varadero airport so make your choice. There are small stalls everywhere selling all kinds of little things for really cheap for gifts and souvenirs as well. They will make scrambling to get the items you want in the day or even in the event they had more left on your time, I've experienced. The hotel staff (apart from women at the reception) was really friendly, courteous and very charming (and charming too) if you are a girl, you will undoubtedly make cruiser. I loved Leo partculièrement, the server at the main buffet in the hotel at dinner time and the server at the beach bar which is very funny. The lemonade is excellent and very refreshing. The buffet is so repetitive, but you'll die of hunger I can assure you, it even happens at some point we always feel we're still eating. If you are open minded, take time to taste a little bit of everything during your stay and see for yourself that there is nothing to be disappointed. There are shows every night that do not end too late, around 11: 00 pm, what I particularly appreciated for my part. But for revelers, there is a nightclub with good music on the hotel website. The beach is a beautiful white sand is beautiful even if it is cochonée by everything from tourists but I'll get in the bad reviews. The ocean water is fresh in the morning but warms up considerably in the day, a few waves and winds in the afternoon but it's very nice. Many topless, then you do not have to be complex. The rooms are not very large but are comfortable. I gave the tip to the maid in my week 2 times (once in mid-week and once before the final day) and my room was spotless. The fridge was operating very well and the air conditioning too. The water is not hot when taking a shower but it is tempered. I have NEVER ran out of toilet paper either! I particularly enjoyed the proximity of essential services (mini supermarket is my favorite). Buffet very good but repetitive. I never missed anything in terms of food this hotel for my fifth time in Cuba, the buffets are almost all the same anywhere you go. The Italian a la carte restaurant is very tasty but a council, arrange to be hungry that day because you'll run out of the restaurant. I am a very good range and I had a hard time finishing my dinner, suggestion: beef tenderloin is highly recommended to this restaurant. The evening shows are entertaining, lively and colorful. During the day, there are non-motorized activities (almost always available) to the beach as pedal boats, dinghies and sailing surf ski. You can also rent scooters and go for a walk through the city. If you want to relax, this is the place and if you want to move a little this is the place too. There's something for everyone and I would go again tomorrow without hesitation. There are some who tend to exaggerate in their speech but to tell you the truth, if I had relied on what I've read, I never would have gone to this hotel and ultimately, c It is I who would have lost. I gave it a shot and it was worth it. As Miss Kawama graduate, I recommend this hotel.

In terms of my negative comments, they are: the communication is very poor and difficult between Cuba and Canada, there is no agreement between them then it becomes very difficult to call in Canada. There is a communication station with service to the other side of the hotel or you can call but make it quick because for me, it cost me $ 12 for not even 5 minutes of conversation so come in to- done right away. At the hotel there is what they call an internet cafe bar, but there is only one computer so if you want to send or read e-mails, try to book your place in advance, it costs $ 15 an hour. As for the beach now, although it is very beautiful I was extremely disappointed to see how tourists are pigs for excellence and have no respect. Everywhere one finds plastic plates, plastic forks, plastic glasses with straws and empty beer cans and empty coke, it's discouraging! I recommend you bring beach shoes because in the afternoon the sand becomes very hot and ... Ooch Ooch ... feet. For the size of the complex it is seriously under palapas but there is always the palm trees to escape. Also bring your own beach towels, they are rare at the hotel. The beach chairs are rare but also the height of all is that there are many people who are sun beds late at night or at dawn, at the beginning of their stay, and that the reserve for selfishly the rest of the week, leaving their beach towels on it. Be wary of sellers walking on the beach, some will try to sell drugs but do not embark in their games. There are cats everywhere on the site of the hotel but they are not disturbing.

If I had relied on all the comments I read here, I would have missed quite a trip! I was happy, and I was with my father 51 years. I stay here again!

The hotel is well located for the town of Varadero. Flea markets and shopping center are within walking distance, not even need to take a taxi! The staff is welcoming and friendly. It is clear that when you never give a tip, they may look stupid ... All inclusive, it does not mean take for granted! I am picky food side, and I always ate very well. Moreover, the a la carte international ... Oh my God, DELICIOUS! Pool clean and the chairs around are in good condition. The rooms were clean and we never wanted for anything. Super beautiful beach. Property really shows.

In terms of negative, there is an oil refinery not far ... it happened twice, not really long, but some smell répendait on the hotel website. Nothing major. Otherwise, it is best to change money in the bank, not the hotel, they have a better exchange rate.

We asked for a room on the second floor with balcony, have never managed to get one ... Our first room was quite poor cleanliness and maintenance side .... it took 3 trading days to get change rooms ... well, succeeded after calling the Sunwing representative. Last year at the same time I went to Villa Cuba and I had paid more as 856.00 for 2 weeks. and compare well it is day and night in every way. Next year we return to the Villa Cuba for sure. Unfortunately, I could never recommend to Kawama anyone, no! To be honest, I gave gifts for the maids of charity and not by merit.
