The Puntarena was my first trip to the south, after the comment left around on the internet I was VERY scared to come to this hotel .. Yet upon arriving I was not disappointed .. of course the hotel is old, the stairs are rusting rooms are simple (but clean!) it was not the big luxury but still good :) especially for a first trip. The sustenance and well it is Cuba! but there was a group e 9 and we all had successful eat and gain weight ;) The beach was beautiful I have ever seen in shell and I have certainly not been a walk with sandals .. there are no algae water is clear and clean what better :) I would recommend this hotel has not people who are ultra demanding or are used has 5 stars but do not be afraid to still a first trip or if you used etent has 3 stars ;)

Rooms basic but clean, the personel was very sweet (except at a restaurant a la carte Japanese) beautiful beach we've always had chairs without difficulty pool that is new and very nice snack bar overlooking the sea just beautiful!

Not much activity (I mention it but for me it was not important)

I'm not the kind chialeuse, there not much that bothers me, but .... there are limits! We're going to Varadero to the beach and the warmth of the Cuban ..... : ((

Own pool, bar staff, after having realized we left a tip each time, were more friendly. Beautiful sea view room with shower fresh. The waffles at breakfast, it was worth to queue for half an hour.

CLEAN: In the loby there was popcorn on the floor for 2 days, the floors in front of assensceurs often very sticky. I was really scared with all the negative comments. But Cynthia and the price convinced me to try. Pleasant surprise. Renovated bathroom, very clean, comfortable bed, channel to acceptable, no smell of oil, small gym nice, very good Chinese restaurant (the other was closed) shells do not bother me at all even barefoot, pool very clean. I'm not picky about food and Cuban cuisine is another world. so do not expect to find poutine or the pie. We find something to eat at every meal as long as thou wilt well out of your dietary routine. We ate very well at every meal. Bus with 2 floors and interesting package planting sugarcane nice. We walked from the hotel by the beach in Varadero. We did not really need animation but the staff is very attentive to your needs. By the way, no problems with the elevators and we were on the seventh floor. For a 3 star and a half, it was definitely worth it and would stay there again.

Avoid this hotel! This was our 2nd (and last) visit to this hotel and we think it has changed and not for the better. Trusting in our previous experience we chose this property ... What a disappointment! Food: We are not difficult but there are limits to what your stomach can endure. The buffet lunch and the evening was cold, not mangables, no variety, and often there is no wine. The Italian restaurant is mediocre. We recommend the restaurant world for its shrimp tempura and chicken General tones. The snack bar by the beach serves excellent grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and burgers, not worse. Do not expect the slightest smile employees snack bar, because customers seem to bother them. So go dinner in town instead of staying at the hotel ... and return to the bar 24 to the tract, if any remain. Regarding the buffet train to room temperature, we had all of two digestive discomfort, but not serious. Room: To prevent odors from oil fields, get a room on the side of the sea, avoid the side channel. Our room (sea side) took water two times, once with every rain. Air conditioning is excellent and the buffet as ... very cold. The thermostat is not adjustable. The bed is king and the pillows are hard. There is a fridge in each room, which is very handy to cool your beer that you bought at the tienda. Facilities: During storms, you should take a boat to get to the snack bar, as there are 6 to 10 inches of water that accumulle on the forecourt. There was water seepage across the Lobby1 and Lobby2, but two bars are not affected. The elevators work now and that all three quite simultaneously.
