Blau Varadero

Very nice hotel in Varadero, probably one of the best in the area. Hotel is in height rather than villas spread over a large site, which has about 380 rooms so smaller and everything is easily accessible.

Clean rooms and the site generally impeccable. Pool and great beaches. The hotel was almost full and it was not difficult to find chairs at the beach or pool. Smiling at the buffet especially staff. Food varied and of good quality for Cuba. Ideal location with the double-decker bus that passes close to the village.

Lobby bar closes still early (midnight), after that there is only the beach bar or who have 24 but the music plays loudly, impossible to have a quiet drink after this time. This same bar does not open until 10am in the morning, so to make a good coffee you have to go to the pool bar, a little further, if you want a coffee quality as that of the buffet is pretty bad. Hair drier in the room is not very powerful.

Blau Varadero - Again an excellent choice! We just returned from the Blau from a two weeks vacation and we're happy to report that the hotel has exceeded our satisfaction one again.

The addition of toilets next to the beach, waiters taking your orders while you're laying down on your chair by the pool and the special dinning reception for repeat guests were very nice improvements from our last stay.

We quickly noticed Management's efforts to bring client satisfaction at a new level of appreciation when we repeatly saw the Director General walk around the properly doing his own inspections from verifying the cleanliness of toilets to verifying the quality of food presented to encouraging staff to keep the property spotless.

This man is leading by example! I saw him emptying ashtrays and cleaning up the floor. You could see that he cared for his clients when he askied guests how their stay was going and ensured that needs were addressed properly. Thank you for your active participation in making the Blau the great hotel it is.

The Food: we were very satisfied with the food and the service in all facilities. There is something for everyone.
The Room: always clean and well maintained by the maid.
The Beach: close-by, clean and lovely as usual.
The pool: clean and well maintained
The Staff: we got excellent service from everyone (polite, courteous and working very hard)

Our favourite location: the Piano Bar wins! What a great atmosphere.

Best A la Carte restaurant: Palma Real

Elevators: if you're worried about some of the comments on the elevators - there is nothing to be concerned about!

Thank you to the staff and the management team for making this recent trip a memorable one. Expect us for 3 weeks next year (two weeks just went by too quickly!)

Stayed May 2013, travelled with friends

The only negative comment would be with Sunwing at the Varadero airport where we were offered a seating upgrade for 25 CUC per person. The agent told us that we wouldn't be able to sit together as a couple if we didn't pay the extra but it turned out that we sat together even though we did not pay the extra.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful beach, nice staff on my ist in 1st place if I went to Varadero, a true 4 *

variety of buffets for lunch and dinner. Theme several nights a week at the buffet.

except that I was unable to have diet cola in the room, I opas big negative to say!

Excellent service, no shortage of chairs or at the pool or the beach, excellent coffee bars.

13-20 February 2011. temperature wonderful! We must consider this hotel being a very good 4 *. We made various hotel has 4 stars and a Varadero that was very much the evaluated. Cigar cheaper at the airport after customs. For the same cigars in hotel 15 CUC at the airport 7CUC. Very little quebecois. Large German majority. 40 +.

We were Nolitour with a choice of nine floor quiet room at # 949, rum as a gift in the room. Seen on the sea side channel. 3 dinners a la carte. (2 of the hotel and one of Nolitour). We did the test, gratuity or service is not always equal, and good smile. Near the marina, clud dolphins. 20cuc for a taxi to the town of Varadero. Very large balcony and single room, very well. The beach! a delight. Many chairs and palapas at any hour of the day. This is a hotel where there are several places to relax with a good lil wine. Very large lobby bar piano bar +. Never lack beach towel, always hot water to the chamber. A hotel that I rcommande for these four stars, for a price below $ 1200. More than that, I think I'd be a little disappointed. We love our vacation!

We always had to wait until after the lifts. Very sure we were on vacation and we air all the time. A little tan after 6 days of still waiting after them. The buffet was pretty simple thank you. The lunches was just perfect. For the evening ... tasteless. A big lack of spices. This is not because it was bad, but it lacked flavor. So after 6 days we were a little tanned. Despite everything, we always had something in our stomach.

For making over 10 trips to the Caribbean (Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Cancun, Antigua, Salvaldor, Jamaica, Cuba ....) I consider the hotel very well. This is definitely a safe value for Varadero. The rooms are nice but noisy. Try to have one that does not overlook the lobby. It's very low noise and echo knocking at your door. Side restaurant, the only two cards ...: (By cons, you will always find a few things well at the buffet, which makes some changes throughout the week.

Beautiful architecture, beautiful site clean, good access to facilities, beautiful polished enough customers aged mostly European "English" and Germans. There's a choice of 110 or 220 volts in the bathrooms. Very quiet in the evening and night. Few mosquitoes.

Do not go there to celebrate later or meet Quebecers. (Melia Las Americas is much better for that) It's not a dining destination nearby. Disco outside still empty. No air conditioning out of the chambers (two cards asked if any stops). We're dying in the entrance hall. Wine to room temperature (38 degrees). Do not skipped lunch because the dinners are dégeulasses. Eating for two very ordinary card. No courtesy room. Half of the pool was being repaired (without water). Mini Bar poor. In short you have to pay expensive and not expect too much food side.

We were looking first and foremost a safe place to relax, sunbathe and enjoy the beauty of the beach. So we found all this at the Blau Varadero. Although our room faced away from the beach or pool, the view was still interesting because we were located on the 7th floor. We had outstanding service from the maid. it seemed to enjoy our little daily attendance (cosmetics and makeup, nylons, etc..) The staff in restaurants, buffets, bars, shops and reception was very helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The buffet food was very good and varied. The a la carte restaurant Palma Real is excellent. We were not bothered by mosquitoes. Note that the watering is done to counter them. For an upcoming trip to Varadero, we certainly consider this hotel again.

New and modern hotel complex. Beautiful clean beach with chairs and palapas in sufficient quantity. Clean and comfortable rooms. Courteous staff.

The coffee buffet is poor ... That the bar is top notch.

Very nice hotel. The rooms are simple but effective. I recommend for couples and those wishing to relax. Little activity, but that's what we wanted. The pool is very large and there are enough chairs for everyone. The staff is courteous and quick service. The bars are attractive and the atmosphere is good. If you are looking for some peace and quiet, enjoy a drink in the piano bar after dinner, there is a lovely terrace and it's quite relaxing.

The beach is beautiful and close to the hotel. Take a room with sea view, it's worth it.

The food is pretty ordinary, the food is often cold and lacking in flavor.

The best hotel in its class. Everything is well organized and all the people we met including the rest of us were more than satisfied. A note WWWW +
