It was a good hotel, the fourth I do in Varadero. I would rank second, just behind Playa de Oro. Stayed April 5 to April 19 at the Barcelo Solymar

Positive :

I really liked this place. Supersaver our 2nd floor room overlooking the pool was very nice with flat screen TV & fridge filled every day. As I'm not picky and I love to eat everything and not afraid to try, I liked the food. The a la carte restaurants was very good though so ... lobster was overcooked unfortunately but hey, I went to eat 2 times Barbacoa & Barracuda. I thought the staff was very nice except for some but it did not spoil my holiday so far. A guided day in Havana for 59 CUC pesos it was great. I certainly went back .....

Negative :

As we were next to the pool and therefore the bar of it, people were celebrating a little late so we could hear them shouting late some nights but you get used.

The site is very clean! The room too! The staff were acueillants! Magnificent beach. Near the town of Varadero. The staff we try to speak French :) Location safely.

Negative :

The food is poor, depending on the tastes (no variety). Cleaning our room was often around 3:30, 4:00, so two days it is not happen. The fridge filled 1 times 2! Not much choice of drink. Bar closes early! The 24hrs is no atmosphere. And no coffee maker in our room (very nice trip though, I go back malgrés these little details!

Always satisfied. Good food, beautiful beach, near the center of town. Staff very friendly and professional. Very clean rooms and facilities.
