Pour moi c'est l'endroit où les habitants sont les plus sympathiques. Originaire d'une municipalité agricole, je m'y suis senti chez moi à voir partout des gens travailler aux champs et saluer les passants sur la route! Ils nous invitent à prendre un café, et ce, sans arrière pensée, selon ma perception.

Positif :

L'hôtel est très propre avec du personnel toujours souriant. La nourriture est excellente et en abondance; pour moi c'est le meilleur des "trois étoiles" de Cuba que je connais,... et j'en connais plusieurs.

Négatif :

C'est difficile de trouver quelque chose de négatif, tout étant relatif évidemment.

Marea del Portillo est à 2 heures du petit aéroport de Manzanillo. C'est intéressant quand vous arrivez en plein jour car le trajet vous permettra de voir des villages et des gens en activités. Une excursion que j'ai trouvé agréable somme toute. Toutefois, cela devint un désavantage quand vous revenez. En effet, il faudra avoir quitté la chambre pour 6 heures du matin. Mis bout à bout, du départ de l'aéroport à votre arrivée à Marea, vous pouvez compter un bon 8 heures.
Le site de l'hôtel comprends 3 sections;
Une se trouvant à + ou - 5 km de l'emplacement principal. Évitez cet endroit car c'est loin de tout, il ne s'y passe rien, vous aurez de la difficulté à trouver un service de navette et il n'y a même pas de plageen pour vous maigner. Catastrophique.
Les 2 autres sections sont les cabanas et Farallon.
Les premières sont idéales pour les petites familles avec jeune enfants ou les personnes ayant de la difficulté avec leur déplacement. C'est pourquoi, vous y retrouverez beaucoup de gens retraités avec un âge moyen de 70 ans. Quand je suis entré pour la première fois dans le restaurant, j'avais l'impression d'entrer à la cafétaria où réside ma mère de 83 ams. C'est tout de même super agréable d'aller y manger. Si vous êtes du genre plus grouilleux, réservez plutôt les chambres du Farallon et précisez à l'achat que vous désirez une chambre avec vue sur l'océan et non sur le lagon arrière que vous aurez le loisir d'observer lors de vos repas au restaurant qui y possède une superbe terrasse.
L'emplacement au Farallon est magnifique avec une vue sur la mer et la chaine de montagne. C'est une vraie carte postale.
La nourriture est tout à fait correcte mais il m'est jamais arrivé de me dire que c'était excellent. Mais on est à Cuba. Les bons assaissonnements sont rares. En résumé, les déjeuners sont super, les petits lunchs dans les casse-croutes ben corrects et il y a assez de variétés au souper pour trouver une assiette bien garnies.

Positif :

L'excursion en calèche au village de Marea est à faire. Apportez-y vos petits cadeaux pour lesquels vous n'aurez aucune difficultés à trouver preneur. Et c'est relativement agréable. Pas nécessaire de parler la langue du pays.
L'excursion au coucher du soleil dans le lagon est à ne pas manquer. À distance à pieds du farallon, c'est une agréable randonnée et le retour vous permettra d'admirer des poissons volants qui deviennent lumineux au contact du fond marin. à couper le souffle.
L'excursion à Cayo Blanco à faire une fois sur trois.
Beau petit ilôt au sable blanc avec un merveilleux diner sur la grille. Pas de snorkel à y faire par exemple. Prévoyez de la protection contre les coups de soleil car il n'y a pas beaucoup d'ombre.
L'excursion samedi soir en autobus à Pilon est insdésastreux. Quand on veut rencontrer les gens on y va pas en autobus en klaxonnant quand on arrive au village. On s'est fait envahir comme cela ne se peut pas et ce n'était pas drôle.Piège à touristes extra.
Pour manger la langouste, manger-la sur la terrasse du farallon. Super!
Pour les restaurants à la carte, n'attendez pas. Dès que vous le pouvez, alllez réserver car les places sont très limitées.
Pour la plage, l'eau est tellement bonne et chaude et quel décor apaisant. Vous vous laisserez flotter des heures durant sans jamais vous tannez. Le sable n'est pas blanc immaculé mais on s'en fout. Il est doux.
Pour la fiesta, ça se passe après 11:00 à la petite disco près de la mer. Attention les femmes ou les filles, si vous voulez du cubain, il se tient à cet endroit précis.
Somme toute, j'ai apprécié ce voyage et cet hôtel mais je ne me précipiterai pas,. J'aimerais en voir d'autres. Ma note sur 10 est de 7 car je trouve que les pauvres cubains sont des gens un peu trop fades à mon goût.

C'est un endroit propre et tranquille, bon service du personnel, les chambres propres. Nous avons été agréablement surpris de la bonne nourriture, il n'y a pas un vaste choix, mais pour un trois étoiles si peux dispendieux c'est très très bien (le souper du samedi ouff digne d'un 5 étoiles la soupe au moules à se rouler par terre). Si vous aimez les animations de jours ou spectacle de soir c'est pas la force. IL y a beaucoup de retraité. La plage est propre, mais pas agréable en raison des roches et des algues alors profitez de Cayo blanco. La piscine n'est pas profonde et très propre. N'hésitez surtout pas à prendre le forfait supérieur VIP.

Positif :

Nous n'avons pas manqué d'eaux chaude, une journée d'électricité seulement dans la chambre de bain. Le service pour les activités à Cayo blanco et merveilleux, ainsi que le tour au couché de soleil. La randonnée à cheval est à ne pas manquer. Il ne manque pas de chaise au tour de la piscine. Le sandwich du snack bar et soit les frites ou bananes frites sont excellentes. Maya qui fait l'activité de stretching est vraiment une pro. Les animaux sont libres, mais ne s'approche pas. Derrière l'hôtel dans la montagne il y a des gros iguanes.

Négatif :

Les touristes qui se laissent trainer leur cochonneries ou mégos sans oublier les jeunes de l'Ontario qui laissent leur cerveau chez eux et qui se croient tout permis. Les vicieux qui pognent pas sans payer, mais c'est partout pareil.

Instead
of beeing in Mareo del Portillo Hotel in Mazanillo, we were droped
from at Punta Piedra Hotel, which is 6 km away from the main Hotel
where I booked my trip. The Sunwing Rep Elena asked us to pay about
200 $/each to be transferred to Mareo or 20 CUC to use the restaurants
in the main hotel. I'm 6 months pregnant and I have to hitch hike
every day twice to get to the restaurant and all services of Amigo
Club. In Punta there is no FOOD and we were warned that the beach at
Punta is not secure by the LIfeguard Alex. At the 2 day of our stay
the Sunwing Rep told us that she even didn't know that there were SW
clients staying in Punta Piedra. When I booked the vacation on the web
site there was not a single mention that Punta ROOMS (not Hotel) are 6
km away and that we have to travel on our expenses to eat or stay on
the beach. Apparently Punta Rooms are considered a different category.
There is even not a Security guard sometimes, no reception, no food,
no transport and because of my pregnancy I wonder what should I do if
anything happens and I need Medical help. We asked Elena to give us
Bicycles to be able to get to Mareo ddel POrtillo and at night back to
our Punta rooms, she said there were 6 bikes at Punta. The next day
when we asked for the 4 bikes we were told that there were not any at
Punta. When we said that the SW REp told us that there were 6, they
bring 3 bikes (not 4 and we are 4 people) in rush from Mareo Hotel. We
only have breakfast at Punta, where they serve us 3 kinds of fruits ,
bread, eggs and jus. Today I asked for cheese and ham and received 3
slices of cheese and 4 of ham for me and my husband. The previous days
we didn't ask for anything and only ate bread with butter. I payed for
ALL Incl 805 $/each and I'm starving, living in insecurity and dealing
with finding transport every day instead of enjoying my vacation. Back
to Montreal I will send you and to all the newspapers and to l'Agence
de protection des consommateurs a detailed article with all we had to
suffer and deal with during my 1st wedding anniversary vacation +
pictures. I also will, contact a lawyer to protect my client rights
and those of the future victims of Punta nightmare.

aller plutot a l'hotel en bas, le maria del portillo et insister sur cet hotel

Négatif :

Pas de lumiere entre les 2 hotes
On devrait concentrer les spectacles a la meme place plutot qu'au 2 place
pas assez de palapa
Je ne retournerai pas a ces 2 hotels

très belle endroit ,dans les montagne
Hôtel agréable,très propre

Positif :

Hôtel propre
Buffet agréable ,pour la terrasse et la vue magnifique et la nourriture très correct.
hôtel qui est à mille lieux de Varadero ou tout autre lieux envahi par les hôtel
À Manzanillo il n'y en a qu'un seul et c'est le marea del portillo! Ce qui donne la chance de découvrir le vrai Cuba et de s'aventurer (pour les gens qui ose) à l'extérieur et découvrir.
Possibilités d'aller à playa Blanco ,une belle ile de sable blanc et d'eau bleu claire.
Il faut prendre le forfait VIP ,ça vaut la peine.
Température chaude assuré en janvier dans ce coin de Cuba ainsi que à Santiago

Négatif :

Plage de sable gris (vaut mieu être prévrenu),quoi que très correct quand même,mais je trouvais personnellement qu'il n'y avait pas assez de plage pour se promener longtemps.
Le vin pas très bon à mon avis
