Iberostar Cayo Coco at Cayo-Coco / Cayo Guillermo, Cuba – Vacation ratings

Large site with many Canadian people. Many restaurants, beautiful rooms but no balcony at second and third levels in laguna section. Many services, beautiful beach, good animation and many sports. El emperador section is close each summer season.

Hello, Cuba is Cuba, a great atmosphere, super friendly staff, cleanliness of the place is almost perfect, the food were not dying of hunger, idyllic beach. So please do not be afraid of negative comments ... it must be like for them in Quebec .... Who always whining whining one day ... Moron a must visit and also the big catamaran. And above all spend a good holiday ...

Negative :

No water service problem because of Marylin nautica versus mainteneant hotel but it is a settled case ... Of course Hurricane = 2 days less ....

To start the hotel is named nh krystal laguna. We were housed on the lagoons in a suite (on stilts) very nice, clean, tranquille.Je can not say more because we were evacuated because of Hurricane Paloma .

Negative :

The result was to include a bottle of rum and coffee to our none of this happened we were donner.Manque site.Aucune organization on the toilet not working properly on site.La pool on the VIP side we were part was being repaired and the tiles around the pool was full of dirty limon.La beach was dirty but the water was chaude.Le buffet is very ordinary for a 4 étoiles.Notre représantante Air Transat did not give too much explanation on the hotel and excursions has faire.J 'I evaluate a la carte restaurants, activities, and excursions only one because we only stay 36 hours a cuba.Mais certainly would not stay at this hotel . For I have been in three and a half and it was frankly better.

We left a little worried given some bad reviews. We were pleasantly surprised and would recommend this hotel. All a la carte restaurants were already booked when we arrived including the VIP was no cost to us because we were in the suites Emperador. The suites were very clean, very comfortable beds, fridge stocked every day. The staff are very friendly. The site is great but the Laguna side was beginning to open so it was quiet on that side. We walked there and that's fine. The villas on the lagoon seem fine too and I have not really felt bad odors they told me. Unfortunately we did not stay our whole week because we were evacuated because of approaching Hurricane Paloma. It all went very well.

Negative :

Only negative comment: it is the algae lying on the beach. Someone told me that when they went in February they were collected. We went to other hotel beaches and the problem was the same. Too bad, because the view is less beautiful. That's all I found negative. Stay there without fear.

We stayed at the NH Krystal from October 20 to November 2, 2008. We were in the following section emperador (Air Transat) (this section was only in operation). We were pleasantly surprised at the hotel in general. The nouritture is good as the buffet, beach restaurant and a la carte restaurants. The large rooms are clean and well furnished. (Note that no chamber section emperador has a balcony) The Week Of October 20th the sea was beautiful and the week of Oct. 27 was unfortunately less beautiful because of a frond causing cold winds. (Too bad for the people of a week-range red flag). We paid $ 1028 for 13 nights. We walked around Laguna Azul section under renovation, a lot of work to do on the exterior. Only the rooms on the 1st floor, blocks of four units in Sections 22 and 23 and the villas have balconies. We would return to this hotel.

Negative :

No significant comments.

Bravo Air Trans. for their flight duty. Nolitour representative (Julie) very accessible and friendly. Home Staff very friendly and after seeing our room we asked for another and after only an hour they gave us a Villa in the Lagoon. Steak restaurant and VIP exellent. Cubans very social and no beach vendors. Woman Chambe effective.

Negative :

My assessment neg. is due to the fact that we were in time to IKE. We arrived on 01 and 07 we were moved in block 45 for safety. So far so éyait correct. In the afternoon 300 to 450 tourists were repatriated to our hotel and misery began. The Lobby bar and the buffet was very diff. access and the English of England and feasted ingurgitaient bruyammant enough. At 5:45 Monday morning there was a knock at the door and we were locked in a la carte restaurants for 9:30 ... For lunch we were handed a small bag with white trash cake the day before, bread, bits of meat. etc. .... everything was stuck and not appetizing. Thus 1000 persons governed in an environment that holds about 600 apx. Two uncleaned toilets - paperless - at a time drove back the toilet and spread or it was chordates - a few tourists had pushed the urine with squiggis. There were some moments of panic or at certain times it was believed that a general baggarre burst. Around 15:30 we had the right to return to our room with some restrictions. We come on 15 fetch it but we were on an overnight flight on 12 - via Toronto. For four days there was no running water - the room was not done - there were only 10% of staff per 1000 people - just imagine the rest. I understand that no one was guilty of the situation but these five days we have very unpleasant spoiled the rest of our vacation. This will prevent us pa has to go back and hopefully we will learn a lesson from this. I stop ...

I have already issued comments at first but I had forgotten something very important - if you want the shadow of both the beach and at the pool good luck! No pasasol to the pool and the beach palapas are in very poor condition - or even nonexistent. At high tide the beach is flooded on the major part.

Hello, I write on this forum to express my appreciation for the dream trip I made to Cayo Coco. Obviously, not everything is perfect! It grieves me to see how people who write reviews extremely negative about this type of travel are actually people who were not informed before leaving. I think that goes without saying, when traveling in a country where living conditions and climate are not the same as ours (we are fortunate in Canada!), One has to take information to make our stay more enjoyable. But what I see here is that people complain about the food, cleanliness and mosquito tips. Regarding food, it is widely known that Cuban food is not great and that's why we recommend getting a 4 *. Often, 4 * in this country equivalent to 3 *. We were both warned that it was better to arrive early at the buffet as it was then that the food was hot. About mosquitoes, we were well informed by the nurse at the travel clinic before you leave because we ask questions! About cleanliness, I do not understand what people are complaining. Of course, standards are not the same as here, we, the'' spoiled child'' in Canada. But I did not see anything unsafe. The only thing is that it lacked soap after using the toilet. But this does not happen he not here also? And if you're worried about running out of toilet paper, why not put in your suitcase not God! I also read that someone complained about spiders in his room. Not find it does not on occasion in the house here? And then, when we give appropriate gifts to the maid, everything is very clean, the floor washed, sheets and towels changed and mini-bar EVERY DAY. Regarding tips, do not you give here, when you go to a restaurant and bar? And frankly, they need only one peso. Others complain of waiting time. The employees there are not machines. They are adapted to heat and therefore, they walk more slowly, do things more slowly in general and this is normal. If ever you are on vacation and you need that ca go fast, go anywhere but in hot countries. I've seen people brave, smiling and welcoming there. So if this is not your case, I wonder: did you bring your smile on vacation? Others say that the water activities were canceled. They vanish for our SAFETY, when the waves are too high. If you are ever ready to adapt to different living conditions of ours, go to bed at the Ritz!

Super nice weather. The employees are super helpful and nice even if it does not always give a tip. Our room was well located (not too far from the pool) and always clean. We had good service there too.

Negative :

The beach is very disappointing. It really is not wide and the sand is not as nice as I've been to Holguin 2 years ago. There are a lot of algae in the sea and there is no palapas to protect us from the sun. There were no toilets or restaurant at the beach. In short, I spent one week on the poolside ... If you really want to do the "beach" I do not think will be the perfect place. I would go back to Cayo Coco hotel was good but not for the beach.

I was impressed by the beauty and tranquility of the beach. I ate very well during my seven days. It is certain that everything tastes different from us, but you can find our account, as well as the buffet a la carte restaurants. Restaurants are in my favor the VIP (delicious and quality), The El Galo (the pork chop is excellent!) And La Sirena. As for snacks, there are two. The first is the El Galo, which includes hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken BQ, etc.. This is a very nice place and good enough. The second snack is the Sirena. One can find excellent pizza! I would say this place is ideal for families and people who want to relax, because there is not much animation. In my case, it suited me perfectly. The proof is that I go back to late June. I found most servers in restaurants very friendly, especially Mario, El Galo. If you have the chance to meet him, he speaks a little French. The dance is beautiful and the dancers are very friendly.

Negative :

As no hotel is perfect and there is always a small problem no matter where you go, this hotel is no exception. I fully support the comments of Anic Gaudreau, especially in regard to the service at the hotel. These are not the friendliest people and dedicated. It took some time before our linens are changed and you had to run after the maids to get some service. It is true that they place the ball when there is a problem. However, all that bothered me at first but I quickly went over and I still had a great vacation. It depends on your expectations. Except for the price, I was satisfied.
