The Mexican regions and of Playa Del Carmen and Mayan Riviera in
Mexico are considered for their beaches and the oasis of relaxation offered to the very numerous travelers who visit this region every year. But often, especially when we travel in group with different interests, a complete week of beach can become long. Knowing the attractions near, in the peninsula of Yucatan, becomes then very useful! If you are fascinated by history, you will find in this Mexican region of which to occupy your thirst of discovery.
Tulum is at approximately one hour of road from Mayan RIviera. Several ruins are in this region of which some – make the place unique- directly by the sea. The most ancient Toltec’s constructions date the year 600 approximately. Numerous constructions are always still standing and visits with a local guide are available every day.
A little farther in land you will also find the former city of
Chichen Itza, considered by most of the archaeologists as the main religious place of the Yucatan. It is on this site among others that you can see the very impressive temple of the warriors Jaguar (photo). Since 2007, the site is a part of 7 new world wonders according to
7wonders.org.
The persons in charge of the Mexican tourism expect that these historic places will be much visited this year. The end of the Mayan calendar, on December 21st, 2012, makes so that very numerous travelers will want to go on the vestiges of these formerly rich and powerful civilization, who knows maybe to find a certain redemption before the end …
